Individual online coaching for
road, trail, and ultra runners

From first strides to finish lines

Coaching Built Around You

Running is beautifully simple—just lace up and hit the road. But achieving big goals, staying injury-free, and keeping motivated? That’s not so simple. A coach makes all the difference.

Whether you’re a Masters runner chasing a PR, a beginner training for your first 10K, or an ultrarunner tackling uncharted distances, I’ll create a plan that builds on your strengths, addresses weaknesses, and keeps you inspired every step of the way.

Even coaches have coaches. Why? Because objectivity, insight, and unwavering support are invaluable no matter where you are in your journey.

Meet Your Coach

Hi, I’m Heyward Hart—a trail runner and coach with a passion for helping athletes push boundaries and find joy in the process.

I combine my knowledge of training theory with practical experience to craft programs tailored to each athlete’s goals. Along with certifications from UESCA and TrainingPeaks, I’ve completed UC Boulder’s Science of Exercise course and stay up to date on emerging practices in endurance training.

My own running journey began with a local trail half-marathon that sparked a lifelong passion. A year later, I was running ultramarathons, and today, I compete in trail races around the country. Recent highlights include a podium finish at the Sean O’Brien 30K and a top-10 finish at UTMB’s Grindstone 50K.

Training That Fits You

No two runners are alike. That’s why your plan will be built around your goals, fitness level, and schedule. We’ll start with a deep dive into where you are now and where you want to go, and create a roadmap that fits your life—whether you’re balancing work, family, or simply limited training time.

A Partnership, Not a Prescription

This is more than just a list of workouts. Coaching is a collaboration, and your input matters. I’ll review every run, adapt your plan as life changes, and provide consistent feedback to keep you on track. Together, we’ll make adjustments to ensure your training works for you.

More Than Miles

Running is the foundation of your plan, but it’s not the whole picture. Your training will also include:

Strength Training

Build strength, mobility, and resilience to support higher mileage and reduce injury risk.

Recovery

Prioritize rest and balance life’s stressors for optimal adaptation and long-term progress.

Sports Nutrition

Customize fueling strategies to suit your needs and ensure peak performance.

Mental Performance

Cultivate confidence, focus, and emotional resilience for race day and beyond.

Gear Selection

Optimize your gear for comfort and performance.

Race Prep

Strategize with detailed course analysis, pacing plans, and goal setting.

Pricing and Commitment

My coaching fee is $120 per month, with an initial commitment of three months for new athletes. This timeframe allows us to build a strong foundation and start seeing meaningful progress in your training. If you’re unsure about the commitment, rest assured—you’re free to cancel at any time, and I’ll provide a pro-rated refund for any unused portion of your payment.

I also believe coaching should be accessible to everyone. If finances are a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m happy to discuss a customized rate or payment plan that works for you.
